Driver Interaction

As automobile manufacturers have been for decades G4 Apps is very sensitive to ensure that all solutions are consistent with existing driver behaviour and expectations in their own right and in interaction with other vehicle systems and driver tasks. Depending on the project G4 Apps can take the lead in defining the driver interaction and/or interact with client personnel at project definition as well as throughout development and test.

Solutions Objectives: With the rapid changes in connected vehicle technology, smart infrastructures and density of vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure equipped vehicles and applications solution objectives including corresponding driver interaction must anticipate and enable evolution over their lifetime.

Algorithm Design: G4 Apps’ entire algorithms are designed to support driver interaction subject to safety principles. For example collision avoidance applications track potential collisions but warn the driver when it appears the driver is not reaction, but still within time for the driver to take successful action once warned.

Driver Interface: With the algorithms determining when a driver should be advised and for what purposes the driver interface must ensure delivery and recognition of advice through visual, audio and haptic means appropriate for the nature of the event and within the context of the current driver experience and potentially multiple simultaneous events.
